Abstract Paintings: 1960 – 1990

After formal training in art school, I found I had a leaning towards the abstract. I could portray my thoughts and emotions by translating them into lines and colours. ‘Movement’ became an essential part of my work and ‘space’ was there to release the forces from within.

These are largish canvases painted in oil, using mainly primary colours and sinewy black lines. The elements of Nature portrayed my thoughts and feelings strongly, so I used them lavishly.
